The Regional Unit of Pieria is located on the northern part of Central Macedonia with Katerini being the capital and main city. This network of highways provides the area with a competitive advantage and constitutes a main point of communication between north and south and Greece-Europe. Apart from the network of highways, a main railway network is crossing the area and Egnatia Odos can be found nearby.
