The chapel of Agia Kori is located at the feet of Olympus in the north, 6km. west from the village of Vrontou in a canyon.
Tradition has it that a young girl found shelter in the area during the Ottoman rule in her effort to flee Ali Pasha and had been hiding in a cave where she also died due to hardships.
Her name was not known so, according to tradition, she was called Agia Kori (Holy Girl).
Her memory is celebrated today on the Holy Trinity Day.
The chapel hosts religious ceremonies right by the fountain with the miraculous water.
The scenery 300m above the sea floor is magical and mysterious. A church stairway of 173 steps leads down to one of the most stunning canyons of Olympus.
