The Olympus Geological History Museum was founded in 2013 in Leptokarya, Pieria and displays the development of Olympus through the ages in light of geology.

 

The Museum exhibition includes minerals and rocks found in Mount Olympus as well as fossils from the area that are of particular interest for the development of the local flora and fauna.

 

The visitor can be informed of the impact of the glaciers on Mount Olympus, the erosion process and how caves are formed inside the mountain.

 

The museum tours are available in four languages: English, Greek, Serbian and German.

 

The museum is open every day from 9am. to 2pm. and 7.30pm. to 11pm. (apart from the operating hours, a different time can also be scheduled for group visits).

 

The ticket price for students-children is 2 euros and 3 euros for adults.
